DeepStar Phase X commenced in January 2010 with ten Oil Company Participants. DeepStar participants represent a strong mix of large and mid-size operators, USA and non-USA based, drawing in a rich array of diverse expertise to address common deepwater challenges. Chevron’s current contract with RPSEA, as the UDW Program Manager, expires in December 2010. RPSEA has subcontracted management of the UDW Program to Chevron who has managed and leveraged the DeepStar Consortium in performance and execution of the UDW Program since its commencement in January 2007.
As the world’s largest deepwater stakeholder group, DeepStar has a 20-year history of managing collaborative deepwater research and technology development. Chevron, leveraging their management of DeepStar led the RPSEA UDW Program from commencement through 2010 and thanks the 800+ DeepStar technical and management committee volunteers for their contributions. Working together with the U.S. Department of Energy’s NETL we built a potentially transformational portfolio of over $40 MM of UDW projects and submitted an additional $25+ MM of carefully developed RFPs for the 2010 call for solicitations.More about changes within RPSEA
Q: Is it possible to bid to work on DeepStar projects without being a member?
A: Yes! DeepStar competitively bids the work funded through the project. Most RFPs are distributed at the beginning of each Phase. Phase X is already in progress, but new work is periodically required. If you are interested in bidding, please contact us for more information.
Q: I am an employee of a member company. How do I gain access to the DeepStar member's area?
A: Please visit our Site Registration page. You must use a valid email address from a member company to sign up. After submitting the registration, your information will be submitted to DeepStar and you will receive a confirmation email. Follow the link in the message to authenticate your email address. From there, you will be able to log into DeepStar.
