x000 - Geosciences Committee
Mission:
The ultra-deepwater part of the GOM poses many geological and geophysical challenges to the exploitation of hydrocarbons. Many of these challenges are related to a combination of the UDW environment and the presence of a regionally extensive thick salt canopy which overlies the prospective subsalt section. The combination of a thick water column and thick salt layer pose a formidable challenge for acquiring data and accessing resources. The environmental conditions and costs associated with t
x100 - Regulatory Committee
Mission:
The Regulatory Committee provides liaison between the DeepStar technical committees and governmental regulators such as the Minerals Management Services and the US Coast Guard. The objective of the committee centers on the exchange of technical information between the working technical groups in DeepStar and regulatory representatives of the MMS and USCG. The Regulatory Committee also works and communicates with leading industry organizations, such as the OOC, API, and others. The objectiv

Mission:
The goal of the Flow Assurance Committee is to assure reliable and economic production in deepwater by the appropriate design and operation through prediction, management remediation of deposition and line plugs.
x300 - Subsea Systems Committee
Mission:
The mission of the Subsea Systems Committee is to develop technology and qualify equipment to enable the deployment of “subsea facilities for 60 mile tie-backs from 10,000 foot water depth.”
x400 - Floating Systems Committee
Mission:
The role of the Floating Systems Committee is to further technology and fill gaps related to deepwater floating systems and their associated moorings and risers.
x500 - Drilling and Completion Committee
Mission:
On the Drilling and Completion Committee, members share their experiences and data to improve deep water drilling operations.

The committee has assembled the best available public domain information for use in learning the global characteristics of deepwater GOM reservoirs.
x800 - Met-Ocean Committee
Mission:
This committee aims to improve knowledge and modeling capabilities of the GOM circulation, which will provide more accurate facility design criteria and reduce downtime during deepwater drilling operations.
x900 - Systems Engineering Committee
Mission:
The Systems Engineering Committee has the responsibility for analyzing existing and/or potential technology gaps and bringing them to the attention of the committee best suited to carry out further work in the specific technology area.
