Is it possible to bid to work on DeepStar projects without being a member?

Yes! DeepStar competitively bids the work funded through the project. Most RFPs are distributed at the beginning of each DeepStar Phase. Phase X is already in progress, but new work is periodically required. If you are interested in bidding, please contact us for more information.

What is the relationship between DeepStar and RPSEA?

DeepStar works closely with RPSEA and acts as the administrator for the RPSEA Offshore Ultra-Deepwater Program Element. Please visit the RPSEA website for more information on RPSEA, and DeepStar's work with the group.

I am an employee of a member company. How do I gain access to the DeepStar member's area?

Please visit our Site Registration page. You must use a valid email address from a member company to sign up. After submitting the registration, your information will be submitted to DeepStar and you will receive a confirmation email. Follow the link in that message to authenticate your email address. From there, you will be able to log into DeepStar.

I have forgotten my username and/or password. How do I retrieve it?

Please visit the "Forgotten Your Password?" page. You must use the corporate email address you supplied when you registered with DeepStar or your user name. After you click "Send My Password," the DeepStar website will send you an email with your login information. If you continue to have difficulty with logging in, please let us know through the Contact Us Page.

Where do I go to update information in my profile, such as my address, or change my password?

You may change any portion of your profile through the User Edit page. If you have changed companies, you must contact the webmaster directly either at 713-372-2777 or though the Contact Us page.

Do I need to notify DeepStar if I change from one member company to another?
-
Yes! Although you can change your company name in your profile, you MUST contact our webmaster at 713-372-2777 or through the Contact Us page to ensure you have the proper document access permissions. For security reasons, these must be changed by a DeepStar Website Administrator.

How do I use the new document search feature?

To search for a document, click on the Document Search link under the MEMBERS section of the navigation menu on the left side of every page. You may search by Phase, File Type (e.g. CTR, Report, Minutes, etc.), or Committee. You can also narrow your search using the "Search By" box. With the "Search By" field, search options include Document Title, Project Description, CTR Number, and others.
If you want to search the content of files (called an index search, like you would using Google or Yahoo), select "Document Content." If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Where can I find the most recent minutes for a committee?
There are multiple ways to search for meeting minutes, however, the most recent uploads are displayed in two areas. The five most recent uploads, including committee meeting minutes and deliverables, can be found near the top right of the in the "Latest DeepStar Uploads" box.
The five most recent meeting minutes for each committee are also available on the page for each committee. Committee pages can be accessed by clicking on the name of the committee under the "Project Information" menu item, or by going to the main page.

I would like to receive updates for a particular committee. How do I subscribe?
There are two ways to add yourself to a committee:
You are free to subscribe to all committees. Management Committee distribution, however, is limited to the Senior Advisors from each Participant company.
If you would like to become actively involved in working with a committee, please contact the Committee Chairperson. You can find the name and contact of each Chairperson through the Committees Module search page.

Go to your Profile Editing page and click the "Edit Committee Memberships" icon.

For each committee you would like to receive updates check the box next to it. Press the "Submit Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

From the Committees Module search page, select the committee you would like to join. At the top of the committee page, click the link that says "Join this Committee?" Next, confirm your choice by clicking the "Join this Committee" button.

How do I unsubscribe from a committee if I am no longer interested in receiving updates?
There are two ways to remove yourself from a committee:

Go to your Profile Editing page and click the "Edit Committee Memberships" icon.

Uncheck the box for each committee you would like to leave. Press the "Submit Changes" button at the bottom of the page.

From the Committees Module search page, select the committee you would like to . At the top of the committee page, click the link that says "Unsubscribe from this Committee?" Next, confirm your choice by clicking the "Leave this Committee" button.

I do not have the right type of program to open a document I downloaded from the DeepStar Site. How do I open it?

Most downloads available on the DeepStar website are published in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
(*.xls), Portable Document Format (*.pdf), or ZIP (*.zip) files. These files all can be opened with various free (open source) and paid programs. Each of the icons below can be used to access the major programs.

I tried to log in with a "company-wide" login but it failed. Are company-wide logins still active?

No. As part of our ongoing security upgrades, all company-wide logins have been removed. If you are accustomed to using this type of login, you will need to generate your own personal login. Please visit the Site Registration page to register with the site and generate a login. You must use an email address associated with your company or organization for the website to authorize you.
